Freedom Bar - Wardour Street, Soho, W1F 0TA
Website
Freedom Bar is a Soho legend, and has gone from cutting-edge gay venue to achingly trendy metrosexual hangout over the course of its history. It serves a fantastic mojito at a surprisingly reasonable price. The banging club hidden in the basesment is the cherry on top. Not to be missed!
The sumptuous leather and crystal chandeliers of Freedom have been welcoming the Soho elite for many years, and the basement club adds an unmistakeable air of hedonism to create a truly outrageous bar/club experience.
The mojitos are classic - Fresh lime, Old Havana Rum, sugar, mint and crushed ice topped with soda - and are consistently repeated both upstairs in the lounge bar and below in the club. The staff are friendly and efficient, and seem to have an understanding of cocktails which is not as common as it perhaps should be.
Make sure you check out the club downstairs, even if you're only really there for the mojitos. With its funk/house and hard funk vibe, laser lightshow and 200 mirrorballs it's a sight to behold!
